FAQs

2D ultrasound produces standard black-and-white images.

3D ultrasound creates more detailed images with depth, allowing you to see your baby’s features.

4D ultrasound provides real-time 3D imaging, so you can watch your baby’s movements during the session.

Yes. Ultrasound is considered safe for both mother and baby when performed properly.

It uses sound waves—not radiation—and all exams are conducted by trained, registered sonographers who follow established safety guidelines.

The ideal time is typically between 25 and 32 weeks of pregnancy.

During this stage, your baby’s facial features are more developed, while there is still enough space for clear imaging.

Gender determination is usually possible starting around 16 weeks.

However, accuracy may vary depending on factors such as your baby’s position and visibility during the scan.

Staying well hydrated can help improve image quality.

We recommend drinking water prior to your appointment, as this may support better visualization during your scan.Bring something sweet to eat or drink right before your exam so the baby can be up and moving.

A Wellness Screening is a proactive step to monitor your health when you feel fine, helping to identify potential risks before symptoms even appear. It is an elective, “peace of mind” assessment that provides a baseline for your health. A Diagnostic Ultrasound, on the other hand, is usually ordered by a doctor to investigate an existing pain or symptom. By choosing our screening, you are taking charge of your health today—though it is designed to complement, not replace, the clinical exams managed by your primary physician.

If a potential issue is identified, our Board-Certified Sonographer will document the findings. You will receive a formal report signed by a Radiologist, which you should take to your primary healthcare provider for further clinical evaluation and follow-up.

We strive to provide every family with stunning, clear images; however, the quality of an ultrasound is determined by several biological factors. Elements such as the baby’s position, the amount of amniotic fluid, and the mother’s tissue density play a significant role in image resolution. Because of these variables, we cannot 100% guarantee high-definition clarity, though we will always work to get the best angles possible.

At Brilliance Imaging, we recognize that every baby has their own unique personality. While we strive to capture the perfect shot, it’s important to note that all service fees are non-refundable. Each session requires dedicated time, professional expertise, and the use of medical-grade technology. If your baby is shy, the sonographer will patiently work with them and employ various techniques to encourage the best possible views. However, the fee covers the sonographer’s professional labor and the resources utilized during your appointment, regardless of the baby’s cooperation or the final visual outcome.
